Pupil Surveys
Pupils are an integral part of decision making at The Downley School. We listen to our children all the time about how they learn and about how they think the school can become an even better place. Their reflections and suggestions are gathered in many ways.
The School Council plays a very important role in gathering views through the elected class representatives.
The School Leadership Team ask children throughout the school to complete a questionnaire on an annual basis. The results from the one done this year show overwhelmingly that the pupils feel safe, enjoy their lessons and feel successful in their learning. They are proud of their school and feel that they make it a better place to be. Where children gave negative answers (for example, I never feel safe), these were followed up in discrete conversations with staff to ensure all children fully understood the questions or were helped to overcome any challenges or difficulties they were having.
